Why We Are the Best
ScorePerfect offers 80 hours of live, in-class instruction.
The ScorePerfect LSAT Course consists of 80 hours of live, in-class instruction.
The LSAT is a challenging exam, and mastering it requires a considerable investment
of time. In class we thoroughly cover every concept, method, and strategy that is
relevant to the LSAT, and this would not be possible if our course consisted of
fewer hours. The large amount of class time also enables our instructors to get
to know their students personally and provide them with specific help. Furthermore,
since each individual class meets for four hours, ScorePerfect students develop the
mental stamina necessary to maintain concentration on the day of the real exam.
Companies that charge over $1000 for LSAT courses that consist of a small number
of lecture hours are shortchanging the students who enroll in their courses. For
example, Kaplan charges $1299 for its standard 36-hour LSAT course. Short courses
like these do not provide instructors with enough time to convey all of the information
that LSAT students need to know. As a result, some of the most important LSAT concepts
must be taught either in a cursory manner or not at all. Students who undergo this
type of incomplete preparation find themselves at a disadvantage when competing
with students who are fully acquainted with all of the concepts underlying the LSAT.
So why do so many other companies offer fewer hours of live instruction? We can
think of several different reasons. First of all, long LSAT courses are more costly
to run than short ones. Instructors must be compensated for teaching more hours,
students must be provided with a larger amount of course material, and additional
classroom space must be secured. These costs create a strong incentive for companies
to keep the number of lecture hours in their courses to a minimum. Secondly, offering
the kind of academic program that ScorePerfect offers requires a long-term commitment
to customer service. Some of our smaller competitors do not have the human resources
to make this commitment. Finally, the courses offered by most of our competitors
are based on analyses of the LSAT that are largely superficial. Such analyses do
not focus on the principles of logic that form the core of the exam and
consequently do not yield the intellectual content to merit a lengthy course.
It is important to note that the 80 hours of live instruction offered by ScorePerfect
does not include diagnostic testing time. ScorePerfect students take four, full-length
proctored diagnostic tests in addition to the 80 hours of class that they attend.
Some of our competitors attempt to mislead potential customers by including diagnostic
testing time in their advertised number of course hours. When comparing LSAT courses,
students should be aware of the distinction between class time spent on diagnostic
testing and class time dedicated to live instruction.
