The best teachers in the business want to work for us because of our strong curriculum and the unmatched support we offer. ScorePerfect receives hundreds of LSAT instructor applications each year, and less than 10% of all candidates are hired.
To apply, you must have scored in the 98th percentile or above on an officially administered LSAT (171 or higher on the current scale). There are no exceptions to this requirement. In addition, you must have a dynamic presence, a passion for teaching, and the ability to explain concepts clearly. It takes an extraordinary person to do this job.
We offer better compensation than any of our competitors. The starting pay rate is $30 per hour, and instructors who travel to teach outside their local areas can earn an even higher hourly rate. Some of our veteran instructors earn as much as $100 per hour.
All ScorePerfect instructors make $50 per hour for in-person tutoring. They are also well compensated for tutoring students via telephone or online, teaching our intensive 16-hour weekend course, conducting LSAT seminars for prospective students, and working in our research and development department. In addition, we compensate instructors for the time they spend preparing for class.
Some small companies advertise higher rates of pay but fail to offer significant work. A high pay rate is meaningless if there are no hours available. In contrast, ScorePerfect’s large student base ensures that instructors have plenty of work. The annual payroll for our LSAT faculty is several million dollars, far exceeding that of any other company.
To apply for a position, please send your résumé and a copy of your official LSAT score report to firstname.lastname@example.org. Following the interview and audition process, promising applicants are invited to attend our week-long instructor training program in Los Angeles. In order to teach for ScorePerfect, you must successfully complete the program.
