Instructor Hiring

The best teachers want to work for ScorePerfect because of our reputation for academic excellence. The strength of our curriculum has made us the choice for students and instructors who refuse to compromise on quality. We receive hundreds of instructor applications each year, and less than 10% of all candidates are hired.

Qualifications

All instructor applicants must have scored in at least the 98th percentile on an officially administered LSAT (171 or higher on the current scale). There are no exceptions to this prerequisite. In addition, ScorePerfect instructors must have a dynamic presence, a passion for teaching, and the ability to explain things clearly and precisely. It takes an extraordinary person to do this job.

Compensation

We offer instructors better compensation than any of our competitors. The starting pay rate is $30 per hour, and instructors who travel to teach outside their local areas can earn an even higher hourly rate.

All ScorePerfect instructors earn $50 per hour for in-person tutoring, regardless of where they are located. Instructors may also have the opportunity to teach our intensive 16-hour weekend course, tutor students online or over the phone, conduct LSAT seminars for prospective students, and work in our research and development department. In addition, we compensate our instructors for the time they spend preparing for class.

A few small companies advertise higher rates of pay but fail to offer any significant work. A high hourly pay rate is meaningless if there are no hours available. In contrast, ScorePerfect’s large student base ensures that our instructors have plenty of work. The annual payroll for our LSAT faculty far exceeds that of any other company.

Successful completion of the week-long training program is a requirement to work for ScorePerfect.
